Wow

Compressing the shit out a kick does not make you cool

Nor does it make this hardstyle.

And you used loops? You disgrace true music producers everywhere.

Good day.

DaniMart2005 responds:

Ok to clear things up:

I did no compression what so ever! I just put the loops together.
Every component I used was from a Hardstyle song or free house download loop.
Disgrace is not measured by it's own being, but by those who are that percieve themselves.

Hmm

I hear a lot of Nevermore influence in your music.

You ever hear of them? Or am I way off?

Sonofkirk responds:

Never heard of them, I should give them a listen, thanks :)

Holy shit

Didn't know there was house this good on newgrounds.

I fucking love the sound of this dude. You got some real talent on your hands. I love the clicky lead also. You got a really nice simple house track here. I don't have really any complaints about it. Although I would have enjoyed a bigger build up.

I just love huge gigantic epic build ups that lead to a kick and a bass and nothing else. Its eargasmic for me.

Good work!

Mans0n responds:

thanks, and so do i!

What is the deal?

Every time I see the word "Summer" in a dance song title, I automatically think of those same lame ass 4 chords that every kid uses in dance songs. I click it, and I hear the same god damn melody over and over.

All related with the word summer.

Am I missing something?

Ok, on a technical note.

This is clipping like a mother fucker on crack. This almost destroyed my 200$ headphones, I had to unplug them really quick when I heard this. You really need to regulate how loud things are. There are DB meters for that.

Clipping means the DBs in your song go over the recommended DB limit. Which can play some frequencies that most headphones do not cut off to loud. Causing permanent damage to both equipment and quite possibly YOUR EARS.

If you're lazy then there are limiters, that automatically adjust all your sounds to fit within the recommended DB limit. Makes the song sound distorted but I'd much rather hear a simi distorted song than a jumbo jet blasting techno crash into a burning fire (thats what this sounds like)

I don't mean any offense to your producing style, just please learn proper mixing.

Hell, this might even sound better if you just turn down the MP3. It sounds like you did use a limiter, export an MP3, then turn up the volume on it to the max.

JordanRothery responds:

what happend was.... when i was creating the track i didnt notice that my overall sound volume was WAYY down and i forgot to turn it up, so i made everything in FL sound louder because i didnt understand what was going on. The next time i heaed this song my volume was right up and i almost shit myself with how loud it was.

Sorry

You're putting this on your first album?

It's good, don't get me wrong, but there are to many flaws to be album worthy.

First of all, your acapella's are off tempo. They sound good for a second then sound a little slow. You're EQing is good, could use a lot of work though.

Also, if you're planning on selling this, you need written consent of the label of the artists that sing this song, or you could get sued off your ass. It happened to me, and I had only sold 6 copies.

Another thing, your high hats. You either have them on a delay or have one playing on the right then the other playing on the left channel. The thing about that is it creates a draggy, off beat effect, and once someone notices it, its hard to enjoy the song. Try making them both more in the center channel to avoid this.

AzZul responds:

I agree with you on many points, but the acapella is fine, i think you are mistaken.
It is yet to be Mixed and Eq-ed.

Yea, we realized that, and are probably going to finish it and put it on NG to promote the album instead.

The hats, sound like a delay, but its cuz we dont have a clean acapella and thats actually the snare.

Thanks for the review, we will try to find a cleaner acapella and not get into any legal trouble. ;)

Thanks!

OH WOW

dj-pompier responds:

Good job!

You say you havnt heard Brisk & Stormtrooper's hardcore remix?

Twatris - Brisk & Stormtrooper

Its really good, if not the best there is

Unrl responds:

I haven't. =\ is it good?

Mixing, ect

I don't know if you are tired of hearing it yet but I really don't care anymore.

But I guess I wouldn't stop making bad songs if every little nooblet on newgrounds liked them so much...

I'm seriously tired of masterpieces falling to the bottom of the list because they dont all sound like every other generic piece of shit on newgrounds...

Good day sir

DanceNation responds:

woa, um..... are you bashing me, cuz.... i thought we were friends..... yea, your bashing, well 1st
take the fucking pipe out of your ass, 2nd dont you think its just a bit cocky to be calling your songs masterpeices?hmmm :/

Ok ok...

Good concept, I guess. The chords are the generic chords in 90% of dance music. But you do have an interesting hook.

One thing I've noticed on a lot of your songs is the EQ. EQ is very delicate, it can make or break a song. With a few modifications it makes everything fit in place, but a few more and you've got a bunch of loud over compressed noises all at once.

Now you may be mixing with small speakers or bad headphones (thats what it sounds like) and that could be the problem. But this song is lacking proper equalization.

And you've got 2 saws in the beginning, It sounds like they're playing different melodies but in the same octave and the notes are getting tangled and twisted.

Also to equalize things out may I suggest some bass other than a low stringed instrument? Some off-beat bass works perfectly for dance and pretty much all electronic music. The bass kick provides the bass then the off beat bass plays when the kick isnt to provide equal steaming bass through the hook. If you've got one solid bass then the bass is doubled when the kick plays. If that makes any sense. You also need to manage how loud your leads are.

Its honestly a good concept for a great dance song, but if you improved on everything I talked about this song would be so much better.

PS. a good tempo delay on the crashes is a cool effect for dance, you should try it ;)

DanceNation responds:

Actually, Today I Just Learned How To Properly EQ and Compress LOL. New Headphones Come In The Mail Tomorrow. Made The Crazyest Melody Tonight.
:P But Yea, I Agree With You On All Of That :) But Im Not Sure What Your Talking About With The Saws... If I Am.. I Liked It Like That :P (LOL Each Word Began With A Capital Letter)
